Open a Layer Style

(1) Current Style in the Layer Styles Sidebar Menu

Just open any Layer Style in the Layer Styles Sidebar Menu by clicking on it’s name

You can see what style is active by it’s blue highlight (1) or by the breadcrumbs in the header of the panel (2)

Before you can adjust/show/hide a Layer Style you first need to add it to your layer so if it’s not enabled yet you can add it by double clicking too.

By default no Layer Styles are added to your layers in After Effects!

Add a Layer Style

• Look for the + button

click once with any of the possible keyboard combinations below

<aside> ☝ Note that the Blending Options Group cannot be added on its own. It becomes available when you add one or more styles. You can however keep your blending options after you remove all other styles. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I know right?!

Add All Layer Styles for the Current Layer

You can Add all the individual Layer Styles at once for the Current Layer through the

Layer Styles Menu

After adding a Layer Style the + sign turns in to the Visibility Icon

You can now toggle on/off your Layer Style visibility with the Visibility Button.

Show/Hide Layer Style(s)

Find the Visibility Button (here)

click + hold the Visibility Button to open up the underlying menu or you can click once with any of the possible keyboard combination below
